The James Whalley Flying Bursary (2017)

Guernsey Aero Club are pleased to offer an introduction to flying training through The James Whalley Flying Bursary.

James Whalley learned to fly at the age of 19 with Guernsey Flying Training Ltd, and went on to train at Oxford Aviation Academy.  His first job as a Commercial Pilot was with Aurigny, he then went on to become a Captain with Easyjet. Following a fatal skiing accident in 2011 a fund was set up in his name to encourage new young Pilots to follow his example.

The introductory lessons comprise of two hours flying instruction, ground school, briefings, manual, landing fees and temporary membership of Guernsey Aero Club. Entrants must be 16 years old or over and a resident of Guernsey.

(Deadline for us to receive applications: 10th May 2017) Bursary winners will be announced at our Open Day on Sunday 14th May 2017 and all applicants are encourage to attend on the day.
